What if I don't have a piece of high value content to promote in the 2 native ad positions on the category page?
While it's encourage you take advantage of the native ad positions to drive traffic back to your site with a piece of high value content, we can also run IMU (300x250) banner ads in the native ad slots if you don't have content for the native ad positions.
Why are 8-10 banner ads required? Can an advertiser use the same creative and have those run throughout?
The reason we ask for 8-10 banner ad creatives is because their ad could appear 8-10 times on the same page.
For example, look at this feature-length article: https://www.packworld.com/coding-printing-labeling/coding-marking/article/22918056/paris-corp-meets-walmart-rfid-tagging-mandate. If your advertiser submitted only one banner ad and one medium rectangle creative, every ad would be the EXACT same on this article. If each ad creative were the same, it would not provide a positive reader experience. It also wastes the opportunity for the advertiser to develop themselves in front of an audience and have a reader get to know them through multiple—different—ad creative on the same webpage. That’s the strength of the category roadblock—they are owning this topic for a month and they are owning the (potentially) 8 to 10 ads a reader is seeing on a single article.
In addition, on the technical side, our ad-serving service does not allow a single ad creative to be served more than once per page for user experience purposes (so it’s not the same, single ad creative the entire page). This means that the service would show different ads than the advertiser’s and would be negating the Category Roadblock product (whose point is to own certain topics and be the only advertiser on screen).
If your advertiser doesn’t have the capacity to design 8-10 banner ads, we can produce the ads for them. Our production team (specifically, Riley and Madysen) have been trained to produce banner ads using AI technology. The advertiser will still have to provide goal of campaign, ideas for messaging, images and CTA. We will offer 3 rounds of revisions maximum. NOTE: This service is only available with the purchase of a category roadblock campaign. We will not provide this service for any other banner ad product.
